Artist's Comments

Recently, I've been inspired greatly by fairy doll sculptures and the fantasy element that they represent. These wings are an homage to that fantasy.

Do please hurry along to see them (skipping and singing we feel would be appropriate - or at least squirming with joy in your seat a little...) before it sells out!

This is beautiful! What sort of wire do you use that can hold so rigid despite the weight and the complexity of the design??
You really do an amazing job!

And congrats on the magazine! I happen to subscribe to Faerie magazine as well and while I haven't yet recieved my new issure (my mail is being forwarded) I can't wait to see you in there!! Great job!!!

Aw, thanks, darlin'! I use galvanized steel wire for the frames. The gauge can vary depending upon what's needed, however, I use 14 gauge as a standard.

Hope you enjoy the magazine when you get it! It's a really great issue!!

That is really beautiful, I honestly have no idea how you even did that.

I just started making wings this year although I have not done anything like that yet. So you use 14 gauge wire, yes? Where do you get that? I honestly use my dad's hardware wire when I make wings, although I would like to use something different.

I get my 14 gauge wire at Orchard Supply Hardware, but I've heard that it can be found at Walmart as well. Best of luck, and I look forward to seeing your work!!
